Q. What is Dolby® Pro Logic®?
A. Dolby® Pro Logic® is a Four-Channel Signal, comprised of 2 discrete channels (full-bandwidth channels; front left and right), 1 matrixed Channel for the center (full-bandwidth channel), and 1 matrixed Channel that is used for both Surround Left & Right (limited-bandwidth channel).
Q. What types of Media may use Dolby® Pro Logic®?
A Stereo and Dolby Surround-encoded VHS, movies and broadcast TV programs , and the Dolby® Pro Logic® signal can be down converted from any Dolby Digital source.
Q. What is Dolby Pro Logic II?
A. It is a 5.1 channel format comprised of 2 discrete, full-bandwidth channels for front left and right, 3 matrixed, full-bandwidth channels for center, surround left and right, and 1 subwoofer channel via Pro Logic II's bass management .
Q. What types of Media may use Dolby Pro Logic II?
A. Stereo and Dolby Surround-encoded VHS movies and broadcast TV programs, stereo music & video games .
Q. What is Dolby Digital?
A. It is channel format that can be up to 5.1 channels, comprised of 5 discrete, full-bandwidth channels (front left and right, center, surround left and right) and 1 discrete LFE channel (subwoofer).

A. All DVDs, some broadcast HDTV and some DBS .

A. It is a 5.1 channel format comprised of 5 discrete, full-bandwidth channels (front left and right, center, surround left and right) and 1 discrete LFE channel (subwoofer).

A. Some DVDs & CDs are DTS-encoded.
Q. What is DTS Neo:6?
A. It is channel format that can be up to 6.1 channels, comprised of 2 discrete, full-bandwidth channels (front left and right), 3 or 4 matrixed, full-bandwidth channels (center, surround left and right, and back surround) and 1 subwoofer channel via DTS Neo:6's bass management.

Q. What types of Media may use Dolby Digital Ex?
A. Some DVDs are Dolby Digital EX-encoded and regular Dolby Digital 5.1 DVDs can also be used with a Dolby Digital EX decoder.
Q. What is THX Surround Ex™?
A. It is a 6.1 channel format comprised of 5 discrete, full-bandwidth channels (front left and right, center, surround left and right), 1 matrixed, full-bandwidth channel (back surround) and 1 discrete LFE channel (subwoofer) .
Q. What types of Media may use THX Surround Ex™?
A. THX Surround Ex™ can decode any Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital EX source and can be used to enhance Pro Logic, Pro Logic II, DTS, or DTS-ES decoding .
Q. What is DTS-ES™?
A. It is a 6.1 channel format comprised of 6 discrete, full-bandwidth channels (front left and right, center, surround left and right, and back surround) and 1 discrete LFE channel (subwoofer).
Q. What types of Media may use DTS-ES™?
A. Some DVDs are DTS-ES-encoded, and regular DTS 5.1 DVDs can also be used with a DTS-ES decoder.
